Three-Month Project Summary and Our Plans to Expand Support for Ukraine

It’s important to note that the Ukraine Support Project, led by a group of donors under the name SOCHTASH, has been organized by Vasyl Andrishko since the very beginning of the 2022 invasion. Alongside other supporters, Vasyl has undertaken more than a dozen trips to the eastern front, and continues to help tirelessly wherever support is needed.

What has changed in recent months is the addition of new supporters, who are now working to publicize the work of Vasyl and his collaborators, attract new donors, and find new partners to help the project grow.

We’re happy to say that these efforts are already showing results, and that gives us great motivation to keep going. In June 2023, we fulfilled a major request for a field ambulance — a modified VW Transporter T4, equipped for basic aid and casualty transport. Vasyl and his son Denys delivered it to the Kreminna region in eastern Ukraine, where it was handed over to a supply unit.

During June and July, we also worked on content for the new Pomáháme Ukrajině website, and launched a system for registering requests for essential supplies from frontline, logistics, and medical units. In just three months, the database has grown to four request batches, and we’re currently processing a new medical equipment request.

The website is fully functional and undergoing continuous improvements to streamline processes and enhance clarity. Transparency and trust with our donors are core principles.

What's Next?

We are finalizing preparations for the T4 “Service on Wheels” vehicle, which is currently undergoing servicing and outfitting in western Ukraine. Within two weeks, we plan to transport it to the eastern front, near Bakhmut, where it will be handed over to the 4th Rapid Reaction Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine.

In the second half of September, we aim to deliver another vehicle — a pickup for mortar transport, together with any additional aid we’ve secured by then. Transport capacity is now critical — for both personnel and equipment. The pace of this delivery will depend on how quickly we can raise the necessary funds. This will be the sixth vehicle we’ve delivered to Ukrainian units this year.

Organizational Development and Fundraising

Because we are not yet a legal entity, we currently cannot run official public fundraisers. We are actively working to establish a non-profit organization to resolve this issue. In parallel, we’ve launched campaigns on the Znesnáze21 platform to help fund specific items from our supply list — enabling faster procurement of the materials Ukraine urgently needs.

It is emotionally challenging to receive urgent requests for help while being unable to respond quickly. That’s why we’re constantly working on new ways to grow the project. We treat our mission with high urgency and flexibility — staying dynamic, proactive, and committed to the task we’ve taken on.

Our personal connections — from both past experiences and new relationships with soldiers, humanitarian organizations, schools, and even children sending gifts to the troops — remind us every day that we have a duty to do all we can for the good-hearted people we’ve come to know, regardless of where they live.

A Committed and United Team

Whether it’s logistics, IT security, vehicle servicing, or donor communication, we are fortunate to be surrounded by people who don’t just give material support, but also offer their time, skills, and voices to help promote the project. We are also deeply grateful for the verbal encouragement we receive — it truly lifts our spirits.

Our team is unified in purpose and motivation. We support one another, tackle challenges together, and move forward like the steady current of a river.

A Call to Action

We would love to build a broad base of small, recurring donors — people willing to stick with us for the long haul and help us meet the ever-evolving needs of frontline units. We also want to expand our project, provide high-quality feedback and documentation from the field, and explore new, honest ways of securing resources for Ukraine.

We believe that even in hardship, there is opportunity — and we are ready to seize it in service of a just cause.

Please consider getting involved in any way you can. If you share our mindset, we’re confident this decision will bring a sense of purpose and fulfillment to your life.

Together to victory!
We will endure because we must, because we want a better world for our children.
