Trench Candle Production for Ukraine Continues – Another Public Event a Big Success
❄️ The Need is Urgent
Right now, temperatures on the eastern front in Ukraine are dropping to -20°C. The need for heat is immediate. Trench candles are one of the most efficient and affordable ways we can help keep soldiers warm in the trenches – and the demand is growing fast.
Since November 2023, we've scaled up to produce about 1,000 trench candles every week, and we’re constantly improving. Our serial production process has been documented and shared on YouTube, so others can replicate our setup and avoid the early mistakes we made.
🕯️ Wax Collection Campaign Across Czechia
The biggest bottleneck in production is wax. To tackle this, we reached out to over 450 parishes across the Czech Republic, asking them to organize wax collection drives and create permanent collection points, which we also hope to extend to humanitarian supplies.
In parallel, we contacted around 300 elementary schools to join the campaign. Communication is ongoing and in some locations, collection has already begun. We've distributed custom-designed boxes and printed materials to support the collections.
Many of these parishes and schools will soon be featured on our website as official collection hubs.
🚛 Logistics and Transport Optimization
Thanks to our Ukrainian nonprofit partner SOHTASH, we’ve secured a contract with a local UA logistics provider. This allows us to transport several hundred kilograms of aid for free from western Ukraine to the eastern front near Druzhkivka, saving substantial costs and boosting delivery efficiency.
