First Public Event for Trench Candle Production in Prague

We spent several weeks preparing for this Sunday evening. We had to secure equipment, a suitable space, materials for production, test the method, and ensure the process could be scaled — because our resources are limited, and we must use them efficiently to achieve the best results.
We’ll soon release a YouTube video with all the know-how we’ve gathered, so that others who wish to help by making candles can benefit from our experience. It’s our way of supporting other volunteers and making their efforts easier and more effective.
Back to today’s event: once everything was ready, we invited potential volunteers. Natallia, Petr, Honza, and my sister-in-law Tereza joined our family group — and just like that, including Kateřina, Anička, and David, there were seven of us.
As I’ve often said, volunteering acts like a sieve — it lets through only the best. Anyone who chooses to help already guarantees an experience filled with kindness, motivation, and the joy of working alongside incredible people. Today was no exception. Thanks to the pre-cut cardboard pieces from my brother Martin, everything went smoothly. We processed all the materials we had.
By the end, we had made 900 candles, 300 of which were already filled with wax. We created star-shaped and spiral candles — all sized to fit our standardized tin molds. The remaining candles will be completed during the upcoming week, as wax work is currently the slowest part of our production process.
Thank you to everyone who helped and continues to help. We’re happy to turn your support into direct aid for Ukrainian soldiers through the delivery of trench candles.
