About Us

We originally started as a group of donors who decided to actively volunteer and help Ukraine.

The organizer and face of SOHTASH is Vasyl Andrishko, whose efforts in supporting Ukraine have been well documented in Jablonecký deník.

The organizer and face of the non-profit organization Pomáháme Ukrajině, z.s. is Honza Riedl, who has spoken about making trench candles for Ukraine in Metro newspaper. You can also watch his interview on TV Nova about this project.

Vasyl and Honza.

We have extensive experience in providing aid, having completed dozens of trips to eastern Ukraine. We maintain direct connections with combat units defending the country. We firmly believe in the importance and efficiency of our work. Instead of slowing down, we are constantly expanding our efforts to provide even more help. This is why we invite you to join us.

If you wish to support a specific item from our list of needed supplies and receive direct feedback on its impact, we can ensure your contribution is delivered and documented. We track each donation’s journey and its handover to recipients, sometimes even providing video evidence (see the Offroad L200 gratitude section in our gallery). However, the true value of support is not measured by its cost, but by its impact. Even a simple thermal insert, costing just a few Czech korunas, can keep a soldier warm for hours—an essential factor for performance on the frontlines.

That’s why every contribution matters, no matter how small. It would be our honor if you chose to be a part of our project.

The SOHTASH Symbol

The name "СОХТАШ" (SOHTASH) - Срібної Землі (Silver Land) originates from Subcarpathia and reflects the character of the region.

"Mountain slopes are cut by ravines filled with thousands of silver streams flowing into valleys, forming rivers lined with rural houses. This is why Zakarpattia is known as the ‘Silver Land’."

About the Pomáháme Ukrajině (Helping Ukraine) Project

Even after more than a year of war, Ukraine’s need for help has not diminished. We are fortunate not to have an aggressive neighbor threatening our borders, as Ukraine does. But if we were in their position, we would undoubtedly expect help from the civilized world—it would be only natural. Moreover, Ukraine’s victory in this conflict is in our own best interest. If aggression against a neighboring sovereign state were to go unpunished, there would be no guarantee that similar violations of territorial integrity wouldn’t happen again elsewhere in the future. If we remain passive, believing this does not concern us, we may face an even greater challenge later—one that could force us to fight for our own freedom in the future. The cost of that battle would be exponentially higher than providing timely aid now, which could help stop the aggressor in the current war.

Support for Ukraine—whether through modern weapons, humanitarian aid, sanctions, or other forms of assistance—must continue as long as it is needed. The faster, greater, and more persistent this aid is, the more lives it will saveand the sooner the suffering in Ukraine—and across much of the world—will end.

Our Vision

The war in Ukraine has now entered its ninth year. For most people in Central and Western Europe, the war began in February 2022. However, for Ukrainians, it started much earlier—when Crimea was annexed and Russia began fighting in the eastern regions. At that time, the world protested and imposed sanctions, but ultimately accepted that the aggression could not be stopped. We condemned Russia but continued our own affairs. The continuation of Nord Stream II is proof of this. However, Ukraine never stopped fighting—the war had been ongoing long before Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022. That moment forced the world to realize that Putin’s Russia would never respect international rulesand that it would take whatever it wanted—unless stopped by force. The horrors Russia has inflicted upon civilians have shown what it is capable of. When Russian troops invaded Ukraine in February 2022, few believed that Ukraine would survive even a week. Some doubted it would hold out for a month, let alone over a year.

Yet Ukraine endures—fueled by the determination to protect its people and its freedom. This will to survive is more powerful than any weapon. It is a natural, legitimate, and unbreakable force that our world should uphold. Ukraine has demonstrated its willingness to fight, bleed, and sacrifice for its values. There is much we can learn from them. History repeats itself. We know what it is like to lack international support or to face foreign invasion. This is why Czechs are among the strongest supporters of Ukraine today. We understand the situation they are in—and just as we desperately needed help in the past, we now refuse to turn our backs on those in need.

Supporting Ukraine is not just a moral duty—it is a necessity. Not only because they were attacked and are defending themselves, but because we refuse to live in a world without rules, dictated by authoritarian regimes. We refuse this for ourselves, for our children, and for all nations that wish to live freely, express their opinions openly, and coexist under just laws. No system is perfect. No people are without flaws. But in fundamental choices between freedom and tyranny, we must be unwavering in our resolve. We must always be ready to defend our values—and sacrifice whatever is necessary. That moment is now. Each of us fights in our own way. This project was created to do just that.

This website was created to inform and connect those who wish to help. If you are considering supporting our project, we ask you to join us in making a difference. From personal experience, we know that those who are willing to help others are truly inspiring. Working together in solidarity and goodwill is not only deeply rewarding but also genuinely fulfilling for everyone involved.
