Photos from Journeys to Ukraine

Every trip to eastern Ukraine is demanding—even when we face no complications, it remains an incredibly long journey. The round trip covers approximately 5,000 km, and although we rotate as drivers, the journey is completed in three continuous stages without stops. During one of our first trips in the spring of 2022, we met Ukrainian soldiers who gave us a Ukrainian flag. They added a note, warning us that our vehicle was moving close to the front line, was civilian, and had no markings. Since then, we have kept the flag on the dashboard of Vasyl’s car—partly out of superstition, and partly as a reminder of our mission. Over time, the flag has collected signatures and personal messages from the people we have met and those we were able to help—all thanks to the generosity of our donors.
